Adviser on International Affairs to the UK Financial Reporting Council as well as serving as Secretary of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators 2005-2011.
Adviser on Public Affairs to the Managing Board of Euronext 2004-5.
Head of International Policy Co-ordination and EU Affairs for the FSA. He was a member of the Banking Supervision Committee of the ECB where he represented successively the Bank of England and the FSA 1996-2004.
David spent the bulk of his career at the Bank of England working on domestic and international macroeconomic and monetary policy matters, international capital markets, supervisory and financial stability issues. In addition he served as Private Secretary to the Managing Director of the IMF in Washington DC.
He has published, jointly with Sir Howard Davies, “Global Financial Regulation - The Essential Guide” and “Banking on the Future: The Fall and Rise of Central Banking”.
